Biodiversity

Biodiversity can be defined as the diversity of forms of life.

Biodiversity and number of species are NOT equivalent terms. Biodiversity includes the number of species, but also the diversity within species (genetic) and ecological diversity.

Biodiversity can change a lot between different biomes. Different biomes have certain levels of diversity associated with them. For example, biodiversity in a desert is normally lower than in a forest. This is because there are several factors that influence biodiversity levels, such as different environmental conditions.
