Blood typing results

A blood typing test card contains antibodies for Antigen A, Antigen B, Rhesus factor Antigen D, and a control field with no antibodies. If the tested blood contains the corresponding antigen to the specific antibody in the field, blood clots will be formed. All the possible results on a blood typing test card are shown in the image below.

All possible results of a blood typing test card are shown. Blood group A positive will show clotting in fields Anti-A and Anti-D. Blood group A negative will show clotting only in field Anti-A. Blood group B positive will show clotting in field Anti-B and Anti-D. Blood group B negative will show clotting only in field Anti-B. Blood group AB positive will show clotting in field Anti-A, Anti-B, and Anti-D. Blood group AB negative will show clotting in fields Anti-A and Anti-B. Blood group O positive will show clotting only in field Anti-D. Blood group O negative will not show clotting in any field. If clotting occurs in the control field, the results of the blood typing test are not valid.
