Cell counting

When culturing cells it is important to know how many cells you harvest while doing the cell passage. This information will help you monitor your culture health by checking the doubling time. But it is also helpful to know how much volume you need in order to seed a new vessel or to add to a cryovial and have your cells at the desired cell density. Harvested cells can be counted by manual methods, using a hemocytometer, or using automated methods, where counting is faster but still accurate. Normally, a cell viability count is also performed at the same time.
