Cell Junctions
Cell-to-cell and cell-matrix junctions allow the cells of multicellular organisms to adhere to each other, function as a unit and exchange information and nutrients. There are a variety of different cell junctions.
- Tight Junctions
- Adherens Junctions
- Desmosomes
- Gap Junctions
- Hemidesmosomes
- Focal Adhesions
