Chemical Hazard Symbols

Just like road signs, chemical hazard symbols are easily understandable pictograms that symbolize a potential danger. These hazard symbols are subject to law and are regulated by standards organizations.

In the lab, you will mostly encounter two main types of hazard symbols. The American fire diamond and the GHS hazard symbols.
