Patch Clamp Buffers

Cell membranes of excitable cells contain many different kinds of ion channels, some of which are voltage-gated. In order to study one type of voltage-gated channel using the voltage clamp method, the inactivation of the rest of the channels is needed. To achieve that, a buffer blocking the rest of the channels in the cell membrane is used.
