Climate Change in Coastal Communities

Communities that are built around the coast are susceptible to small gradual changes such as erosion of land and unpredictable changes in sea-level. However, the effects of global warming on the climate are causing rises in sea level makes them even more susceptible to flooding, severe erosion, and salt-water intrusion.

This can have adverse effects on the livelihood of the community living in such coastal areas.
