Coordinate systems
A coordinate system is a system which uses one or more numbers, or coordinates, to uniquely determine the position of the points or other geometric elements on a topological space
Coordinate systems are used by mathematicians, physicists, and engineers to translate problems in geometry into problems about numbers and vice versa
Two commonly used coordinate systems are the Cartesian and the Polar coordinate systems.
It is important to note that laws of physics and physical invariants must be independent of any arbitrarily chosen coordinate system.
