Diabetes and Nutrition

Everyone should strive for a healthy diet. As a diabetic, it is even more important to be aware of what, how much and when to eat. Especially, paying attention to how many carbohydrates one eats per day is essential for managing diabetes. With a little bit of planning, it is still possible to have the flexibility of choosing from a big selection of food.

Making healthy food choices does not have to be difficult and people with diabetes can enjoy the same food as the rest of the family does. Eating healthy means to eat a variety of foods including vegetables, whole grains, fruits, non-fat dairy foods, healthy fats, and lean meats. Also, too big portions and unregular meals should be avoided.
