Integumentary System

The integumentary system includes the skin and derivatives of the skin such as hair, nails, and glands. Some of the major functions of the integumentary system include:

  • Protection
  • Sense of touch
  • Production of vitamin D3
  • Temperature regulation
  • Excretion

This system includes skin and hair found all over the body, and nails found on the fingers and toes.
