Luteinizing hormone

Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a hormone released from the anterior pituitary gland.

In females it is a part of controlling ovulation, a sudden increase in the blood concentration can trigger ovulation in humans.

In rabbits, ovulation occurs after coitus, and not in accordance with a hormonal cycle.
