Microbiome

The microbiome is the collective name for microorganisms present in the human body without causing harm. Such microorganisms are also known as the normal flora, microbiota or commensals. The microbiome is subject to change in response to changes in the conditions (such as dietary changes), transfer of microbes between hosts, antibiotic treatment, etc. The microbiome is currently the subject of many studies to establish links between microorganisms present in the host and health and disease.
