Morphology

The morphology of an organism is the description of its physical appearance, internally as well as externally. Visible external features could be hands, an arm a petal, stamen, eyes, etc. examples of internal features could be soft organs, or bones.

The morphology of an organism is usually easily determinable with simple tools, such as measuring instruments, counting the number of a specific type of organ or simply looking at color variations.

Every organism looks and behaves differently, and to quantify these differences in order to identify a species, or when assessing differences within a species a way of describing the differences is necessary.

Each morphological character described on Earth has a name, either latin, common or both. Depending on what use the name is intended for you would use either common or latin, however as Astakos IV is a virtual planet we are using commonly used words to explain the morphology of the collected organisms.
