The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. It is the major regulatory system of the body. Functions of the nervous system include:
- Sensory reception
- Information processing, memory, learning
- Control of voluntary and involuntary movement
- Reflexive responses
- Assists in maintaining homeostasis
