Nimlot

The Nimlot is a fictional species from the fictional planet of Astakos IV.

It can be found in forest-like areas and is rarely seen as a single isolated specimen. Its shape is tree-like, reminding of birch trees on Earth. Its bark is white striped with black lines where the outer layer has split apart.

Maybe its most notable feature is its blue leaves, which seems to be able to absorb a light wavelength different from trees on Earth and might give an edge in surviving the dense ecosystem on Astakos IV.

A simple component analysis executed in the early days of colony settlement revealed the bark to be an above-average source of energy and carbon, only if the predator possesses the ability to digest it.
