An organ system is a collection of two or more organs that work together to accomplish a function.

For example, the respiratory system is an organ system consisting of numerous organs, such as the nose, trachea, and lungs. Together these organs move gasses into and out of the lungs, permitting gas exchange to occur between the body and the environment.

There are eleven organ systems in a human, they are:

Together, these organ systems form the entire organism.

The skeletal system, muscular system, digestive system, respiratory system, nervous system, and circulatory system are all examples of organ systems.
