Physical crosslinking
Physical cross-linking is triggered by pH, temperature, and other physical stimuli. Physical interactions are based on van der Waals forces between lipophilic amino acids and dipole-dipole interactions or ionic interactions between divalent ions and the polymers. These interactions are non-permanent and can be torn apart by temperature or simple dilution.
