Body planes and sections
Body planes are imaginary cuts that separate the body into sections. There are three different body planes:
- The sagittal plane.
- The coronal plane, which is also referred to as the frontal plane.
- The transverse plane, which is also referred to as the horizontal plane.
If you further divide the body into sections where the plane lacks a right angle, the plane is referred to as an oblique plane.
