Protein precipitation

Protein precipitation is a biochemical technique used to concentrate/purify proteins, by decreasing their solubility. Adding a reagent (i.e. acetone) to a solution of proteins renders them insoluble, which makes it possible to separate the proteins from other soluble contents.
