The respiratory system

The respiratory system is a vital body system that is responsible for the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the body and the environment.

It consists of a series of organs that form a continuous tract between the nose and the lungs. The respiratory tract is frequently divided into the upper respiratory tract and the lower respiratory tract to describe anatomical locations and clinical conditions.
