Experimental set up (pigments)

Materials required for the experiment:

• Whatsman filter paper

• Glass jar

• Rubber cork with a hook in the center

• Test tubes

• Extract of leaves

• Extract of flowers

• Distilled water

• Methanol

• Petroleum ether (60 - 80 ^oC)

• Chloroform

• Acetone

Hazards:

• Flammable: Methanol, acetone, and petroleum ether

• Toxic: Chloroform
