Nucleic acid sequence isolation

Nucleic acid sequences can be isolated using several molecular techniques. Before isolating specific nucleic acid sequences you often need to extract the nucleic acids from the rest of the cells.

In order to isolate a known sequence, you can use primers for PCR or reverse transcription to amplify specific sequences.

If a DNA sequence of interest is part of a plasmid, specific restriction enzymes can be used for the isolation.
