Structure of the Skeletal System
The skeletal system is made up of two main parts: the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton. The axial skeleton consists of the skull, vertebral column, rib cage, and sternum. The appendicular skeleton is made up of the shoulder (pectoral) girdle with arms and hands, as well as the pelvic girdle with legs and feet.
