From structure to properties

The structure of polymers determines their properties. To describe the structure, we need to know the monomers (i.e., the chemical structure) and the way those monomers connect to form polymers (i.e., the physical structure). Both of these structure aspects are necessary to look at if we want to understand the properties of a polymer.
