Urinary System

The urinary system is a vital system that cleans the blood and eliminates waste. The organs of the urinary system include the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra.

Functions of the urinary system include:

  • Urine production
  • Urine storage
  • Urine elimination
  • Fluid, electrolyte, and pH balance

This system includes the kidneys in the abdomen, the ureters that connect the kidneys to the bladder, and the bladder and urethra in the pelvis.
