Vena cava view
From the subcostal view, if we rotate the transducer conuter-clockwise, we are able to assess the vena cava view, where we see mostly the vena cava and the right atrium.
With this projection, one can visually estimate the diameter of this blood vessel and collapse during inhalation, or M- mode of vena cava diameter and collapse during inhalation. This gives an estimated pressure in the RA (=CVP - central venous pressure).
