Western Blot Transfer: Prepare for protein detection

Welcome to Western Blot Transfer.

Western blotting is a technique to detect proteins in a sample. It is often used to compare protein expression in different samples. To perform a Western blot, proteins are first separated by size using gel electrophoresis. The protein samples are then transferred from the gel to a nitrocellulose or PDVF membrane, this is the step you will be learning about today. Finally, the proteins can be detected using antibodies.
