X-linked dominant

An X-linked dominant trait is a dominant trait linked to the X chromosome. The main characteristics observed for this kind of traits are:

• Most generations have affected individuals
• Affected males pass the trait on to all their daughters
• Affected females pass the trait to approximately half of their sons
• There is no male to male transmission of the trait
